Very close to Alton Towers, beautiful building with lots of character. Well decorated and kept very clean. Friendly staff who were accommodating to our late check in time, and didn't rush us out early either! Will definitely be back.

This was a great stop between Alton Towers and heading off to the Peak District. The hotel was easy to find and great for getting into the centre. The rooms are an older style and had comfortable beds and a nice ensuite bathroom. The person running the hotel was absolutely lovely and we went and got a takeaway, which she was happy for us to eat in the bar area (we had Chinese after a stop at the Micropub) and even warmed our plates. There were hourly bells from the church, which we could hear in the room we were in.

Grandma`s Bedroom (room 5) . . Friday 5th April . . Ref J Booth The hotel is very welcoming, the staff we met were great and the hotel is situated really close to all central bars and shops. Im in my 50`s and as I entered room 5 it felt like I had gone back to my childhood and stood in my grandma`s bedroom. True 70`s wallpaper and furnishings that should have been updated a long time ago. A rusty mirrored door cupboard in the bathroom and black mould around the shower wall brackets and to the shower screen hinges Being a frequent UK traveller this room is not worth the £90 asking fee without a refurb.

Went to a Sunday Northern Soul do. Not many in attendance, shame because its a 250 year old pub.

Third attempt staying In this hotel really do hope they don’t feel me rude but this is what it is a run down out dated hotel would like to find a positive but I can’t sorry we had dirty room windows that not allowed to open and beds that should be condemned this will be the last stay for me

3* Hotel located in the centre of Uttoxeter. Nice base for exploring the surrounding area or an Alton Towers visit.. rooms are big and spacious if a little bit tired and dated in places.

Really nice hotel, very quirky, dated property, definitely a lot of character, if you like this sort of thing, was very comfortable to stay in nice high ceiling In my room and lots of light

Very friendly helpful staff, able to use the car park but some things were a little grubby and it puts you off a little bit. A shame as the staff were so nice and welcoming.

We didn't stay in the Hotal went to a function there. Clean and tidy, staff very sociable a well stocked bar. We had an enjoyable afternoon..very close to the town and there is a very large public carpark at the back of the Hotel with excess into the Hotal.

Don't do it!!!! Rooms dirty and heating doesn't work was offered a different room but you had to see it to appreciate why it was not a better option!!!! After cleaning a bit and freezing up and down dangerous staircases to reception to complain them not knowing how to give a refund or even if they could or find a radiator key to bleed the radiators that my husband agreed to do the bar was well like walking in to, the 60s working men's club the bed was more creaky than my grans bones and lumpy I didn't dare look at the mattress the carpet was dirty and the one chair in the room was covered in hair. Can't comment on food I didn't dare eat there!!!! don't waste your money !

Nice old hotel in a good situation, easily walkable to town and the retail park. Has parking for the residents and also electric pints for electric vehicles.

Room wasn't what we booked but it served its purpose being somewhere to sleep. The building is old. The stairs are steep. It has its charm and the central location is excellent. Pets allowed, which was why we booked here. The bistro is excellent

Had a lovely time at the bank house hotel. The staff were amazing and very friendly. The room was pretty basic but that was all I expected. Great for a short stay. Only complaint is the church bells that go off all night. Took me until after 1am to fall asleep because of it. Not a reflection on the hotel itself but something to bear in mind if you are considering staying

Nice hotel opposite St Mary's church. Bar open to all. Two real ales on hand pump so I chose local Black Hole Brewery Golden ale. Excellent beer. Small patio beer garden. Comfortable lounge. Over 250 years old; like my yellow beer reviewer.
